Our History

1979

Randy Crow joined WMUS Radio as a salesperson after having worked in radio as a rock-and-roll DJ under the name Randy Collins. This radio/voice-production background directly led to RC Productions.

1981

Randy Crow starts RC Productions from his basement in Muskegon as a voice-production company. Crow provided voice/on-air/camera work for West Michigan advertisers including Plumb’s Supermarkets, Hackley Hospital, Muskegon Mall, Redeker Ford, Betten Chevrolet and events at L.C. Walker Arena.

1989

RC Productions is formally incorporated on March 13, 1989.

1991

RC Productions moves into downtown Muskegon at Pine Street and Western Avenue and expands beyond voice production into a full-service marketing and advertising operation. It also launched the Coupon Clipper, distributed in Muskegon, Kalamazoo and Lansing, while expanding in-house graphic design and media-buying services.

1992

The growing agency relocates to 1756 Lakeshore Drive in Muskegon, an address that would be associated with RC Productions for many years.

1994

Abbey Road Recording Studios is established. RC Productions created what it described as West Michigan’s first digital recording studio, Abbey Road Recording Studios. That same year longtime WMUS executive Tim Achterhoff joined RC Productions, beginning a 30-year career with the company.

1996

The company enters digital printing. RC Productions purchased Signs by Jim from Jim Freed because the advertising agency was having difficulty finding outside vendors capable of producing the large-format print quality its clients needed. That acquisition became the business now known as Source One Digital.

2004

Source One makes a major move into superwide printing. To accommodate growing volume, Source One brought in five superwide-format printers, along with expanded fabrication and finishing capabilities.

2005

Source One Digital becomes an established brand. RC Productions filed for the SOURCE ONE DIGITAL trademark in July 2005, citing first commercial use in April 2005.

2012

Major technology/capacity expansion. Source One installed three significant Fujifilm production systems: a five-meter Uvistar 2, an Inca Onset S40, and an Acuity Advance. Contemporary industry coverage reported that Source One was the first U.S. printer to install the five-meter Uvistar 2.

2013

RC Productions’ agency becomes RCP Marketing. The advertising/marketing operation was rebranded RCP Marketing, while RC Productions, Inc. remained the corporate umbrella. The company simultaneously expanded into Grand Rapids with a new office and launched the RCP Marketing identity and website.

2014

RC Productions launched The Gear Group, expanding the family of companies into branded apparel and promotional products for clients, events, trade shows and sports.

2016

Source One reaches national scale. Source One has at this point tripled its production space over its first 20 years, operating a 25,000-square-foot production facility plus a nearby 10,000-square-foot warehouse facility and serving customers throughout North America.

2018

RC Productions, Randy Crow, Carly Crow & Shan Bonjernoor acquire Visions Unlimited, parent of Trophy House, Jones Sports, Lindback Distributing and Havana Bob’s. The businesses were consolidated around Trophy House’s Henry Street operation.

2021

TH Brands purchases Her & His Uniforms, a roughly 45-year-old downtown Muskegon medical scrubs & uniform business, and moved the operation to the Henry Street location.

2023

As Trophy House celebrated its 60th anniversary, the company was renamed TH Brands, reflecting its expansion well beyond trophies into corporate apparel, promotional products, uniforms, sporting goods and related products.

2024

RC Productions sells RCP Marketing, the agency services descendant of the original 1981 business, after 43 years. The transaction made RCP Marketing independent while RC Productions retained Source One Digital and TH Brands.

2026

RC Productions reaches its 45th year from the 1981 founding, with the corporate family centered around Source One Digital and TH Brands.
